Alpha-1 and Trypsin and Liver Injury

There seems to be a bi-directional relationship with heterozygosity for alpha-1, or like we talked about having only one abnormal genolial and one normal one. It's actually a risk factor for progression of fatty liver disease to NASH cirrhosis. And the best explanation I've found theorized that it may be that some chronic inflammatory injury from NASH interferes with autophagy or removal of whatever abnormal alpha-1 is produced.
