Friends and family said the two had a loving and trusting marriage with no signs of physical abuse. At the time, paula and jason were even preparing to buy a new house. There was an issue of a 700 dollar on line gambling debt that was causing some friction in the marriage. Police did formally arrest jason at one of the interviews they conducted, but they did not lay charges. Jason collected various survivor benefits on behalf of himself and anna, as well as a one time death benefit of two thousand 500 dollars.
