Julian Gardner's Decision to Permit Maria to Die

Julian Gardner authorized medical staff to stop administering Maria's food and water. Anti-Uthanasia campaign has held peaceful protests outside of the hospital, criticising a decision they considered inhumane. Members of Maria's family in Portugal were also against the decision. They refused to believe Maria was dying and held out hope for her recovery. Julian Gardner received hundreds of letters from the public that claimed the supportive letters outweighed the unsupportive.
