Spanish and the Cold War
After the war, Spain was something of an outcast. Jean-Chai Shek and the Chinese Nationalists did not want diplomatic relations with Franco's regime. The Cold War would unite Spain and the ROC in a common fight against communism. In 1953, the R OC in Spain signed a Treaty of Friendship; it became common for leaders in Taiwan to travel to Spain.
