The Government's Priority Is to Halve Inflation by the End of the Year
Oliver Daddon says that the government's going to stick to its priority of halving inflation by the end of the year, not just reducing it as Sunak hinted at. We didn't really hear him talking about halving it. Of course, we stick by the target that we set for inflation when we announce those five priorities. But what it does require is discipline from the government. And that's why, for example, in relation to some of the difficult decisions, we have to take in respect of public sector pay.
