I don't think we have a standard explanation of what happened, or it these things are inherently mysterious. I wonder whether academics who write about this period 20, 30 years from now will get it right about what happened. It seems like even if you have nothing sort of morally gito asa, undeniable ora, there is something compelling about those things that were going on in the sixties and seventies. technical technology is just very, very important here.
