Graham Johnson, who resigned from the news of the world after making up a story about the beast of Bodman and then worked for the Sunday Mirror was convicted of phone hacking. The thing about phone hacking is that it left a trail of evidence. It left billing data. It left private investigator notes. It left all these things which someone, you know, lawyers and guardian journalists could measure and follow and find out about. And eventually, Prince Harry too. A wider police investigation into phone hacking led to charges against Rebecca Brooks and Andy Coulson in 2011.
