He venerates the greeks who very much love their wine yet as you pointed out earlier the difference is he saw them as a sober people that there was a sound judgment right and they're rich no no illusions served a purpose. A lot of pagans in a certain sense a lot of pagan religions were stronger than christi don't know if he said christianity i can't remember what exactly he was comparing it to but something along those lines. They did their drinking within a ritual context so but they also did it within like a competitive context context like at the symposia of like who can drink the most and still hold themselves together or um and discourse on on complex vals
