Slavery is the closest thing we have to a single issue that touches, like, the whole of american political economy. It may generate really intense conflict if you try to tren of like and American reliance on fossil fuels completely right? I'm borrowing from an argument chris hayes made years ago, is its fossil fuels. Even in his own erms, he's profoundly underestimating the number of issues which slavery touched and informed and and created in passes over iht. And so it is a moral crisis more than a material one, in a lot of ways.
