Hermeticism and Hometicism
Hermeticism was a school of thought that had connections to gnosticism and neoplatonism. In egypt, the upper class spoke greek and the lower class still spoke demotic eEgyptian. The people in this tradition wrote a series of dialogues which were later translated into latin by an Italian scholar. This one copy is the only one that survived. It ended up in the hands of am demedici in florence.
