VMF-214 had a very short training period. They only had about three weeks of training as a unit before they were deployed to the combat area. It's probably one of the most iconic aircraft ever, frankly. As a kid growing up, I had visions in my head of driving course areas. We all did at some point in our lives. it is a bad bird.
