Is Oxybenzon a Sun Screen?

Oxibenzone is an organic sun screen, which means that it basically acts by absorbing sunlight. When it absorbs sunlight, it gets excited to this higher energy state. Oxybenzon actually has this alcohol group, which helps deactivate it and help return it back down to the ground state where it emits heat.
