The Role of Oligopolies in Competition
Companies don't like price wars you know it's just horrible right they lose their competitor and so you end up exactly where you started with similar market shares but you've both lost a lot of money in the meantime. I go through dozens and dozens of studies showing and specific examples that are colorful showing that there's collusion in many industries. It happens in everything from essentially we've seen it in bread sales in Canada to Georgia broiler chickens in the South in America, airline prices and it's everywhere. Because of that when oligopolies can collude these are illegal and there's hundreds of billions of dollars of fines that have been issued for this.
