Ira Hicks: It's important to ask the character in your story, what's going on? What do things look like? What's happening here? Because their take on what's happening might be different than yours. All the animals are taken to what Mr. Hicks calls the box, a walk-in freezer near the city incinerator. There, they are lifted into metal oil barrels and left. Does this job change the way that you see animals?
