I was in the Soviet Union in 1990. I actually worked on Paris-Stroika. We took that highly enriched uranium and downblended it, mixed it back with other uranium isotopes to bring it down to an enrichment level suitable for operating US nuclear power plants. Now the advanced reactors are going to be requiring Haelew high-assay low enriched uranium which provides enrichment levels between up to 19.5%, 20% or so like that. So they'll be able to operate for longer periods of time throughout the fueling to be more efficient and less economical by using this higher-assay fuel.
