Australia's Comprehensive Policy Responses to China
Australia has struggled to deal with a relationship that had seemed extremely positive, particularly in the economic domain, for so long. China overreached and tried to use that economic leverage to try and maneuver Australia into a more palatable political position. I don't think China was ever trying to convert Australia to its side, but it maybe saw a position of potential neutrality that it could aim for. The learning process is far from over; there are no set lessons from this. It's an evolving challenge. Australia will evolve in its approach too.
