What's the Landscape Like for Consumer Privacy Bills?

Report looks at five areas of platform regulation: content moderation, antitrust, child safety, and then taxation. California, Utah, Colorado, Virginia, and Connecticut have all passed comprehensive privacy legislation since 2018. Four of the five that have been passed do not include a private right of action for individuals to file lawsuits against companies for violations. The other thing to say about privacy is there's a lot of interest in more narrowly targeted bills dealing with online privacy.
