A lot of the institutional buddhist political apathy, i think we have to say this, a lot of the main stream, politically widespread, institutional buddhism has been underwhelming in terms of its advocacy for the poor. So rather than blame the institutions, i think they blame, in a way that i find unconvincing, some of the doctrines of the japanese schools. But it's important, it's an important thing because, you know, we have to get on some sense that i'm on the other shore, you're not. Therefore your hunger is of no concern to me.
