The Bar for Expertise in Front End JavaScript

I think that there's a set of companies, especially agencies who are in the business of cranking out rapid iteration cycle products for companies. And I think in those cases they really want you to have the skills and the tools they're already using because they don't have time on a three-month project. If a technology is sufficiently new, the bar for expertise is pretty low. But if you look at the population sizes as a whole of Java compared to Elixir or something, there are Elixir experts but it's still way easier to just write a few blog posts and be like the top 10% Elixir person in the world. Yeah, big fish, little pond.
