Hell's Paradise
There's an anime out now, an anime adaptation now, but Hell's Paradise. I don't know if any of you have heard of this or read it or watched the anime yet. It's literally about a group of death row convicts from Japan who are sent to this island to try to find what is the elixir of life. And when they go to the island, they realize that it's inhabited by all these Taoist hermitsWho are studying immortality and have a Chinese master from the time of the Qin dynasty. They're forced to essentially examine different perspectives of like Tao. Very, very cool from a world-building perspective.
