The Steele Dossier

The Steele dossier itself played absolutely no role in the intelligence community's assessment of that Russian threat or the investigation into the Trump campaign. This was meant to be Oppo research first by Republicans in the primary and then picked up on by the Clinton campaign. So yeah, it's not surprising that our intelligence community wouldn't say like, I don't know about that, but we're going to look because of these independent reasons.
