The Career-End of Criticizing Israel

I treat Israel just like I treat any other country. There's no question it is a racist apartheid state, and if you want to hide and pretend it isn't, or not want to offend your audience, then don't call yourself a journalist. But criticizing Israel, like when you wrote about the USS Liberty, wasn't received well in Russia. It hasn't affected me at all; I've been lucky. A lot of people I know, a lot of friends have had their careers ruined by Israeli shenanigans. If I'm doing a book on NSA and I find out Israel blew up the ship, I'm not going to avoid it.
