What Kind of Abstractions Are Effective for the Game of Poker?
As you go to the top levels, the amount of strategy is very largetend to the power of plus. So there has to be some abstractions of various hands and actions. And abstraction in games is much trickier than abstraction in m d ps or other single agent settings. If i have a finer grained abstraction, the strategy that I can get from that for the real game might atally be worse than the strategy i can get from the coarse grained abstraction. You have to be very careful.
