Is There a Balance Between Revolution and Incremental Change?

Hacker news clones can be hard to follow because they are so different from what we're used to using. It requires a balance rate, cause we can't chuck out all previous norms,. ecause our users won't know what they're looking at or what to do with i imagine this is where the dynamic land stuff would relate a lot.
