She says the danger signs for her are when you have politicians adopting them and then acting on them with a monopoly of authoritative force. The idea that lizard people control the world is stupid or silly, but somebody just stabbed his kids because he thought t they were lizard people. But what if it's not the conspiracy theory that’s really doing it? Maybe they're just adopting the conspiracy theory after the fact to justify actions they ‘re going to take anyway, she asks.
