"Thrift Shop went viral. It started out, you know, I don't know, we got a hundred thousand plays the first day or something like that," he says. "And every day it'd be like, yo, do you know the thrift shop? Like we went up by a million today." The song was doing well on alternative radio before Warner came in and killed it.
