I'm Regretful That I Chosen This for Lunch, Not This

i think it's important im to call to mind all the small moments in a day that we can be regretful of. We spend so much of our day picking apart a choice we made hours days prior, imagining how life would have felt different. There's no separation from me and the plant behind me, or the nature around me. And i've gotten really profoundly connected to this since jake died. He's been buried underground for nine months but his physical body has returned back to the original soil. Yesterday was actually his birthday -  his presence isn't here any more.
