i think what a lot of americans want to know these days is, hey, how did this happen? Right? I mean, it was an optimistic period in the nineties, right? We'd won the cold war. And unfortunately, i think we obviously underestimated the strength of authoritarian restoration. Well, we didn't quiama too much these days, but many people say now that puquiama old why? A grating onl this rosy, hopeful atmsea. For a decade, there was a pretty chaotic time, but also a time of freedom and a time of hope. When puten arrived as president in two thousand there was no idea among the majority of
