How Cell Phone Pings Can Be Used to Track a Person's Life

Investigators turned to pace to try and locate Ryan Lane using cell phone pings, a technique that was new to them at the time. In that case, police and search crews spent hundreds of hours searching thousands of acres of rural land. Three people were ultimately convicted of first degree murder in that case.
