In Greek, there's this cool little resource. This is like super nerdy if you really want to dig into the nuts and bolts of stuff. Thesaurus linguai grykai is a massive hyper searchable online database. You can sort by author or by time period or whatever. And I did this with the word arate, which means excellence in Greek. It goes right back. Actually, I kind of knew this already, but you find specifics about how it goes right back to Homer.
