One of pinter's first famous plays the homecoming. It is one of the most offensive plays that you could watch, for the things that come out of these characters mouths. When i first heard it in my early twenties, i hated it. I listened to it about ten years later, and i thought, well, somebody else understands. And he decided to put realism in a shocking way in front of people. Along with those other playwrights, it's changed the way theatre went so that theatre now tolerates tremendous realism. But even pinter himself would say that he spent tons of time arranging the words for their poetic effect. You feel like your listening in on a real conversation
