What Does Gay Mean?

What gay means now is in some sense dependent on what gay has meant in the past. Sase noticed that words only mean something because they are different from other words. When we read the word church in the New Testament, we are bringing thousands of years of baggage to bear on that word. On the one hand, evangelicalism is asking for the Bible's clear, simple meaning. Yet at the same time, they produce hundreds of commentaries on each book.
