How Does Sulpicius's Redistricting Law Work?
Sulpicius wanted to redistribute roman citizens from all over italy into the normal oman voting blocks called tribes. The senate is forcefully opposed to this measure, which would totally disrupt tradition. But on the day of the assembly, word gets to the consuls that there assembled in the voting grounds are gaius marius's supporters. A violent riot breaks out, and chaos and anarchy spread through the streets.
