What Is It Like to Be Enveloped in Pain?
The first 30 seconds or so are quite painful. I think all of the r p m eight receptors are getting activated a you have the voltage gated sodium. They also are important for cold sensing. So it's really intense for about 30 seconds, then at the minute mark, that kind of starts to fade away. And it's actuallya like a pain reliefing effect. Because this thing that can cause pain normally under certain conditions, which we'll talk about later,. because one of the things that underlies pain is actually plasticity - more of these receptors coming in and then getting hyper sensitivity.
