The February Revolution was sparked by women demonstrating in the streets of St. Petersburg for bread. The rich have become more decadent than ever while the poor have been required to give up their aquavita, vodka. When prohibition was enforced at the beginning of the war, the people simply turned to home-made hooch instead. Not only as the Tsar failed to inspire sobriety, he's blown a hole in his government budgets. Most significantly, the armed forces have lost a staggering five million man by the start of 1917,. killed, wounded or missing in action.
