Do You Want a Friend as Your Boss?
I don't think you necessarily need to like them. Like you can have bosses who are huge pains in the butt, but they push you and make you better. If it can be professional and cordial and constructive and if they can change your mind, that's also interesting too. Getting a sense of where limits of where they might want their role to go is an interesting place to prod for example.
