Is There Any Implication for Monetary Policy Making?
If you marked everything to market on the Fed's balance sheet, it would be a big number. But for any loss that I can think of, the Fed just keeps operating. Some central banks who have had capital losses are still able to function normally. They can continue to operate and implement policy.
