Is There a Suggestion That These Data Access Powers Shouldn't Be Retracted?
The ombesman has made more and more recommendations about data access powers. The most serious recommendations are targeted at the police forces, the federal police and police in the states and territories. This is disappointing, but i feear not surprising - we do have a patternt for some agencies of what will i call it, distinctly unenthusiastic and ineffective response to suggestions for improvement. And so yes, i think there should be som resignations if this repeated pattern of non observances stipulated safeguards were to occur.
