The Soul in Jewish Philosophy
The concept of the soul in Jewish philosophy is a very central idea. The Talmud says that the symbol, the emblem of God, is truth. And therefore, what it's hinting at here on this level is that this soul derives from a place of total truth. We also believe that you take the soul out of the body, the body no longer is functional.
