Roma is the plural noun for people who belong to the group, and romani is simply the adjective form. The term has really been taken up and adopted as oof broad umbrella term more in modern times. In albania, it is common for roma people to refer to themselves as balkan egyptians. And also, some do embrace and use the term gypsy. Also, there are some variations on the term roma that have been adopted by certain tribes and sub groups.
