How to Learn Old English
If you want to learn old english, my advice would be to seek out a reader. These are victorian text books, but they do work, if you put enough into them. In poetry, we have religious poetry, biblical paraphrases,. We also have he secular poetry like beowulf. And we have elegiic poetry like the wanderer or the seafarer. Also much, highly recommended, a even in translation. There's a big amount, a huge trove of riches out there.
