What Is Anaerobic Glycolysis?

The brain constitutes 2% of the body's weight, but 20% of its energy demand. Around two thirds of that energy demand is to fuel the activities of neurons. On a mixed diet, someone's burning 120 grams of glucose per day in the brain. Most of the brain's energy demands are met by glucose. Every little is met from fatty acids. Some is met from protein metabolism.
