How Far Is Too Far?
"There is a place for that kind of specific definition of chastity. But we can broaden our understanding, which will then help us to really clearly answer this question how far is too far," he says. "What we might share of ourselves, and this is really ultimately what action means, it's to give."
Chastity: just the mention of this virtue is likely to induce a few eye-rolls. But chastity isn’t only for high schoolers and those who are dating (and even goes beyond romantic relationships)! In this episode, Dr. Greg breaks open why cultivating this virtue is necessary for all of us, and how it can apply to every relationship we're in.
Discussed in the episode:
A definition of chastity based on integration;
Chastity as applicable to a wide variety of relationships - not just romantic ones;
Using the definition of chastity to help one determine the boundaries appropriate to the relationship;
The gift of self that is owed between spouses as part of the nature of the marital dynamic;
The importance of understanding the nature of specific relationships;
How the paradigm of chastity helps us align ourselves with what is true, good, and beautiful;
What a full gift of self on a physical, emotional, and spiritual level entails;
Answering three key questions as a way to gain clarity and peace in relationships.
