Fear is considered by neuroscientists to be the subjective label that is put on the stress response. Courage is not an absent of fear, but rather the ability to function despite being afraid. Fear does start in your head and begins with your brain detecting a threat. When we reach full autonomic overload, we're acting without thinking it's just survival.
Rich draws upon 20+ years of experience as a Navy SEAL Officer where he completed more than 13 overseas deployments – 11 of which were to Iraq and Afghanistan. Through his career, he has achieved multiple leadership positions – to include the Commanding Officer of a Navy SEAL Command.
