The bible consistently describes god as a passable eing who is rich in sympathy and compassion. The classical theist can maintain that god does not need to ow what it is like for you to have an emotion. Even though god has no sympathy or compassion, god intentionally reveals himself as being rich in sympathy  in order to have a relationship with us.
