The Stoics' Theory of Motivation
Augustine seems to have drawn on the stoics in his theory of motivation. So if I have a desire to say eat a piece of cake, how does that arise and then how do I act on it? Right, so the theory of motivation is based on their general theory of cognition. A motivation for the stoics is a specific type of perception or cognition.
