The Importance of Style in Statistical Graphics
I think over the years, it struck me that I think everybody needs to have their own theory of statistical graphics. Like in the same way as if you're writing, you need to have a theory of writing or if you're drawing, you can't just say, I'm going to draw what I see. And so it's really needed. It doesn't mean your style is better than everybody else's but you need that.
