In the time of the buddha, there was a very wealthy merchant named visaka. He and his wife had realized the third stage of enlightenment on a gami non returner. And soon after they had attained that level, his wife ordained and became the nun dama dina. So at one point, visaka, her former husband, who is still a layman, he went to the now nun damadina with a series of questions. She said desire or lust is the underlying tendency, or is conditioned by pleasant feeling. Aversion is the underlying tendencies, conditioned by unpleasant feeling. delusion is the underlying tends regarding neutral feeling. It's so easy to just hear it
