The Role of Minority Languages in Ethiopia's Education Policy
The US doesn't really need an official language policy for English to be dominant because something like 80% of the population speaks English at home, right? In some other places, then it's not really that the case that you have that solid super majority of people speaking one particular language. And I think a lot of it has to do with like social dominance and such, right? Whoever is sort of on top of the society usually has their language as the most preferred like official language. Yeah. One of the more recent things that Ethiopia has been trying to do is involve more of the minority languages in kind of expressions of being Ethiopian rather than just Amharic.
