The Politics of Bombing a Command

Bomb a command not only has to work, but it also has to be seen to be working. Eight Air Force isn't isn't anywhere near capable of this in mid 1943. So 43 is the year for bomb a command to be the senior player without argument on the continent. I think they absolutely believe that if they can get this right, this will bring about the end of the war. You know, an early end of the War. I mean, they think it will destroy Germany, that you know, that and then you don't have to have armies. IDon't think that's hot air; I think they genuinely believe that.
